COCCC Shines at Starbird Rod & Custom Show |
by Keith Marang COCCC Web Guru. January has once again come and gone. It is a month of taking down Christmas decorations and remembering the joy of the holiday season. I can still see my boys faces as they were tearing open their gifts on Christmas morning. In January we begin to brace ourselves for what cold weather Oklahoma has to offer during the next couple months. January for Classic Chevy owners has another meaning: It is the month when two of the three Starbird Rod & Custom Shows are held. The first show was held in our fair city in early January. This year the weather was cold, but there was no freezing rain to contend with like last year. The doors opened at 8am on Thursday morning for setup. The line of nice cars and trucks was extremely long. Photo by Richard Bahr Our club had a prime location in the exhibit hall. We were right next to the bikini girl show!! Oh .... I mean we were right next to the stage and the bathrooms (everybody had to walk past us sooner or later). Our Classic's were judged by the Starbird Judges, our piers and just about everyone walking by. On Sunday during the award ceremony the club was awarded a $500 prize for winning second place with our display! Three member's of the club won a "Top 5" award.
